This page describes the intercom paging feature.
Paging is a one-way broadcast from one station to another, either to a single station or to multiple stations, or to multiple speakers in a PA system via an amplifier.

Paging
Basic paging is a call from the master station to other stations, and may also be broadcast over the PA system.
Although it is similar to a PA system, if you think of each station and Audio I/F as an independent zone, an intercom system can be considered to have far more small zones than a typical PA system.
Paging Group
In a typical system, stations can form groups and paging is directed to the groups.
Points to consider when designing a system include the following: - The number of paging that can be carried out simultaneously - The number of groups to be created in the system - The priority operation when paging stations belonging to multiple groups. For example, as shown in the diagram on the left, when two master stations page to group 1 (G1) and group 2 (G2) respectively, which one will station B receive? |
Responding to Paging
When you page someone, how does the recipient get in touch with you? One of the ways is through the "Response to Paging" feature. This feature allows the recipient to call you back from any station. The recipient does not need to know your station number because the system already knows that your station has paged.
